Job Responsibilities

• Build and maintain GitLab's product usage and billing instrumentation APIs.
• Design data collection architecture with privacy/compliance tooling.
• Maintain Internal Analytics Platform, ServicePing, Metrics Dictionary, and VersionApp.
• Enable decision-making by supporting data collection across product teams.
• Monitor platform health with alerts and dashboards.

Tech Stack

Mandatory Skills

• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails; able to work with Python/Go/JS as needed.
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Familiarity with privacy-conscious instrumentation and data collection.

Nice-to-have Skills

• Interest in LangChain/LangGraph and AI agent systems.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) experience.
• Data warehousing/engineering tools (Snowflake/ClickHouse/dbt/Airflow).
